We learned with a Lakota manufacturer and made our drums in the Lakota / Plains style of traditional rim or frame drums, which includes the traditional four-way drum cord, which is easy and comfortable to hold for a long time. Each drum is made in intentional prayer in consideration of the medicine of the skin. These beautiful shamanic / medicinal drums are built to withstand the rigors of prolonged and intentional use. They are tied very tight allowing them to play in a greater variety of environmental conditions without crushing or cracking from dryness. These drums hold their tone for much longer in wet conditions than any other drum we’ve ever played, and they are truly built to last.
